2012.

My goodness! It is so hard to believe that it is 2012 already. This year has already started off well and I am excited for things to come. I always set unrealistic resolutions that are always abandoned by march so this year I am going to try something a little different. I am writing a list of things I would like to accomplish personally, as well as with my family. Here goes...

  1. As always, I would like to lose weight and get in shape. However, rather than dieting and killing myself with restrictions, I am making a lifestyle change. I am going to cook better, learn more about my portions, and try to spend family time doing activities that are healthy for all of us.
  2. This is definitely a personal goal this year: Kevin got me a Canon Rebel T3 for Christmas and I want to learn how to use it so that I can capture all of the memories that I am going to make this year.
  3. More date nights for Mommy and Daddy! because to be honest, sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle of our daily life that we forget to set a little alone time. Working on our relationship will in turn make our whole family tighter.
  4. take our super awesome San Francisco, Portland, Seattle vacation this summer. I am so excited to take this trip up the coast to places I've never been. I'm so glad Kevin and I decided to do this with Declan.
  5. Live frugally. I would love to pay at least one of our cars, (maybe both) off this year. after that its saving up for our dream house...wherever that may be.
  6. Our last goal for 2012 is probably my favorite! This year we are going to start planning for Kanowitz baby number 2! No, no, I am not currently pregnant don't worry. We are just going to get all our ducks in a row (see goal #5) and it will definitely be a little bit before we start trying. We're so ready and excited to expand to a family of four and to give Declan a little brother or sister.
This year has so many opportunities for us as a family and I am so excited to see what's in store.

Finally!

Hello horribly-neglected blog!

I always promise myself that I will blog more. The truth, however, is that it never happens. I am going to give it another try but we will see what happens.

Everything has been crazy lately with school, work, family, LIFE! So Krystal & I spent the afternoon with the kids having lunch and shopping. It was a nice change of pace. Tonight Kevin & I are celebrating two years together. I am really enjoying today.

Excited.

It's summer time 'round these parts & boy are we feeling it.
I don't mid the heat so much especially with how our weather has been lately, nice and stormy.
If I could live somewhere it rained a lot I would, maybe one day.
Anyways, this summer has been relatively uneventful. To be honest, that is not a bad thing right now. I love the days I get to spend with Declan & Kev doing nothing. I am definitely going to miss that  once school starts.

I have spent the summer dreaming. Dreaming & worrying. Fortunately, I think I am coming to terms with several things and am excited for what is to come in the near future. The first thing to be excited about is my beautiful friend Ashleigh's wedding! She is going to make such a beautiful bride & I have the honor of being in charge of little miss Sydney's flower girl attire. I made a beautiful red and white tutu, it just needs a few finishing touches.
The next big event I am excited about is moving. We move at the end of August to a new apartment. Originally our intentions were to buy a house or townhouse. However, with Kevin's new school plans it is not really practical to do at the current time. Apartment living is not ideal but I am determined to make the best of it and have TONS of new crafty decor ideas that I cannot wait to post. This apartment is much much nicer than the one we are currently in which makes it a little better. Our current place has been good to us and so many memories have been made here. I think I am going to miss it deep deep down inside haha.

One Day at a Time.

Take it slow, don't jump to conclusions, enjoy the things you have now...
These are only a few of the things that I have been trying to tell myself lately.
Everything is changing so fast that I often feel stranded in the middle as my life zooms by.
The point is, I need to be more supportive, more adaptable, more understanding, and more optimistic.
I need to realize that not having complete control of where my life,  My family's life is going, is not the absolute worse thing to happen. Instead I need to be appreciative that for the time being, we have family close, friends close, and more than enough love.

All of this may seem kind of confusing, mainly because it seems like all of my feelings are all jumbled up right now. In short, Kevin has decided (with my opinions heard, of course) To pursue a career in medicine. This is obviously a much larger commitment than his previous degree program. He is taking on a heavy class load plus changing his current job in order to fulfill his admissions requirements for medical school. There is only one medical school in Vegas, so the odds of us having to relocate once he is done with his bachelors are high. This scares me to death. I am more worried for Declan however, as he will be about 4 at the time. He is already attached to everyone here and it worries me.

I know that in the long run this will be good for all of us, but right now I'm having a hard time hanging in there. I will be strong for my family though. we can do this. I know God has big plans in store for us, I just need to work on my patience.

On a MUCH lighter note, now that I have that off my chest, I am re-beautifying my blog and plan on posting more often with updates on our life & of course my amazing 7 month old! (yes 7, I can hardly believe it!)

My Big Boy!

I thought I'd update a little on how my lovely baby boy is doing. He had his four month shots today and took them like a champ! He's sleeping it off right now thank goodness. He is in the 50th percentile for weight at a whopping 15.2 lbs and in the 10th percentile for height at 24 inches. I can't believe he is 4 months old already!

Look at those big brown eyes!
